Description

NanoSurface is seeking individuals who have a passion for developing leading-edge technologies in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment. The company needs a senior scientist to develop, generate, and maintain new cell lines with precise genome modifications. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of iPSC biology, and extensive hands-on experience in cardiac cell and tissue science. Knowledge of genome editing and tissue engineering techniques is desired. Having a history of innovation supported by a world-class publication record or by development of successful biological products and assays is critical.

Must include a list of peer-reviewed publications, including full authorship, title, and journal along with standard citation information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, characterize, and maintain new and existing iPSC cell lines for cardiac applications.

  • Own all aspects of iPSC differentiation, modification, and characterization within the company, including the development of SOPs and quality control metrics.

  • Manage a team of bright, motivated scientists to deliver products on time and on spec.

  • Oversee the use and development of functional characterization assays.

  • Present and communicate results to prospective clients and peers in the pharmaceutical and academic research industries.

Education/Qualifications:

Research Associate, Stem Cell and Pharmaceutical Assays

Description

NanoSurface is seeking a Research Associate to differentiate and maintain iPSC cell lines. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in cell culture, knowledge of iPSC biology, and experience with standard cell biology assays. Experience in developing assays highly desired. Knowledge of genome editing and tissue engineering techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customers’ needs and product requirements; Define bioscience instrumentation systems design.

  • Develop components, modules and system concepts for new bioscience instruments.

  • Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation.

  • System testing during development, integration and qualification phases of the project.Develop, characterize, and maintain new and existing iPSC cell lines.

  • Perform industry standard functional characterization assays.

  • Production of high quality and consistent cell banks which includes thawing, expansion and freezing cells.

  • Accurate and detailed tracking of cell banks, QC reports, and other documentation as needed.

  • Adherence to SOPs, GLPs and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare laboratory reagents, including human stem cell media.

  • Manage inventory of cell culture consumables and maintain sufficient stock to perform research activities.

  • Prepare both written and oral reports on a regular basis.

  • Work closely with other scientists to coordinate experiments.

  • Flexibility in hours needed to accommodate cell culture needs; some tasks may need to be performed off-hours and over weekends and holidays.

Accountant / Accounting Manager

The candidate will be the sole accounting professional in a growing startup biotech company based in Seattle, WA. As the accountant/accounting manager, you will be responsible for managing general accounting practices, payrolls and benefit plans, budgeting, cost accounting, internal accounting controls, R&D expenditures and IP assets as well as preparing financial statements, business plans and IR materials. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a key position within this small but growing organization with a potential for developing further into a Controller or CFO position, depending upon the candidate’s past job experience, future performance and contributions made by the candidate.

Responsibilities / Skills:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations.

  • Develop and update internal accounting policies and procedures.

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries and analyze issues affecting the company’s operational and financial performance.

  • Prepare/update balance sheet, profit and loss, and other financial statements.
